Dat was dus tot 1974 het geval. Daarna is er alleen noodzakelijk onderhoud gepleegd. Dus: ja, er was een zwembad, maar vaak was het gevaarlijk om er in te zwemmen. Ja er was airco, maar die werkte niet. Kortom, het was haveloos en na generaties soldaten verblijf, tot op het bot uitgewoond.
